Antique Malayer Runner

We love that antique rugs are meant for use- they make great hallway and kitchen pieces and can stand up to even the heaviest foot traffic or spill. This antique beauty was woven in the villages of the Malayer region in the early 1900s and was likely created by a family or several families working together. Note that some areas of the rug have the beautiful scarlet dyes woven into the floral motifs on the field and other areas omit it and are entirely olive and blue. This variation and the artistry of various weavers, is exactly why these rugs are so highly sought after and prized. 

The field celebrates highlights of olive, cerulean, scarlet and sand with a rich border that incorporates a deeper chocolate.  The compilation of months of work and thousands of individually hand tied knots come together to create this incredible work of art. 

This rug has been professionally repaired and cleaned.

We recommend using a rug pad to secure your rug on the floor. Cut pads to 1" smaller on every side for best results.
