Mid Century Hamadan Rug

This semi-antique Hamadan rug, with a stunning all over botah pattern, was likely woven in the 1950's in the mountainous region outside of the city of Hamadan. Families often worked together to artfully weave rugs in the winter months when the mountainous temperatures dropped. Each piece is unique and made with wool and vegetable dyes of the highest quality.

This rug has been antique washed to create the softer color palate, including the lovely denim blue and olive greens of the border.
